The Joint Legislative Budget Committee (JLBC) is a nonpartisan statutory committee within the Arizona State Legislature. Established in 1966 under Arizona Revised Statutes §§ 41‑1271 et seq., it consists of 16 legislators drawn from both the Arizona Senate and House of Representatives.

Core Role

The JLBC’s primary mission is to assist the Legislature by analyzing:

  • The state budget and the Governor’s proposed budget

  • State revenues and expenditures

  • Revenue projections, tax structure, and future fiscal needs

  • The fiscal impact of proposed legislation (via fiscal notes)

To carry out its tasks, the JLBC appoints a Legislative Budget Analyst (Director) who manages staff and operations

Arizona’s annual budget outlines the state’s planned revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year, allocating funds across government agencies and programs to reflect legislative priorities and maintain fiscal balance.

 FY 2026 Federal Budget Appropriations 

This annual Appropriations Report provides detailed information on the FY 2026 budget, based on the General Appropriation Act (Laws 2025, Chapter 233) and other legislative acts.
